Employers are responsible under Victorian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws for providing and maintaining a workplace that is safe and without risk to health for employees. ELAA, together with Recovre, presents a one day seminar on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

The course is specifically designed for employers and managers from early childhood services who are responsible for the Occupational Health and Safety of their staff. The seminar will provide practical information and guidance on how to manage risks by addressing the most common hazards faced by the early childhood sector and what to do should an injury occur.

Topics will include:

  • OHS laws in Victoria
  • legal responsibilities of employers
  • duties of employees
  • OHS management systems
  • ACECQA Risk Assessment and Management Tool
  • hazard identification and risk assessments
  • manual handling
  • office ergonomics
  • psychological wellbeing of employees.
