Digital technology in the early years

4 August, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm UTC+10

Unpack the opportunities and challenges that come with incorporating new technologies for children to use in your program and consider the role all early childhood professionals have in ensuring that technology has a positive role in children’s development.

This session will include content about how to use technology with children for a range of purposes and offer a breadth of practical examples for those at all levels of experience with digital technology. In this dynamic workshop Daniel will build from the ground up to develop your understanding of the role of technology in children’s lives – where our thinking has come from and how we can help shape the role of technology in children’s lives to be a positive and worthwhile one. Daniel will work through the different approaches and processes you could take when considering implementing technology into your play-based environments and offer ideas on how to use everything from broken smartphones, to projectors and iPads in this playful session.
