Learning Brought to Life “Making Meaningful Music with our Early Learners”

21 April, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm UTC+10

Many educators lack confidence in their ability to make music with children. They feel they have lost their “mojo” and are doing the “same old same old” year in and year out …

In this practical workshop, Anne Belcher will introduce “The Five Branches Framework for Music in the Early Years”, working through each of the five “branches” or key elements of an effective Music program – Beat, Singing, Instruments, Movement and Listening. She will share ideas for effective, yet inexpensive props and instruments, and fun, easily accessible songs, dances and listening activities that can be incorporated immediately into any early years learning and care program.

We are so lucky to be able to give the gift of music to the children in our care. Come along and gain the boost in energy and confidence you need to bring more music into your program!

In this session, educators will learn:

  • how music can help childhood development;
  • the 5 essential ingredients for an early childhood music program;
  • some simple songs and musical activities they can incorporate straight away.

Quality areas: QA1, QA5 & QA6

Presenter: Anne Belcher – Director, Branch Into Music
