About the Centre/Service Civic Kindergarten, an historic 22-place sessional pre-school centre within the Middle Park Community Centre that shares premises with the Maternal and Child Health Service, a small library and a toy library. Civic Kindergarten prides itself on offering a stimulating play based, child-centred educational program devised and implemented by tertiary educated early childhood teachers and co-educators. We have one four year old group (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) and one three year old group (Wednesday & Friday)

Description We are looking for a 3 Year Old Teacher to work at our small sessional Kindergarten in the heart of Middle Park. We are looking for someone to work as a leading teacher for the three year old group on a Wednesday (8:15 am - 3:15 pm) & Friday (8:15 am - 3:15 pm). There is also room for additional hours to be worked (relief work) throughout the year. The Early Childhood Teacher will be required to develop and implement the three year old program. The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of high quality, innovative and inclusive early childhood education program. The successful person will;
  • The ability to plan and implement a high-quality early childhood program appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of the children attending the program
  • Ensuring the program is culturally sensitive, reflects the service’s philosophy and is consistent with the services policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the VEYLDF / EYLF and the NQS
  • Develop, record and maintain specific records of individual children and share this information with parents as appropriate (Storypark)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and innovation in educational programming and implementation
  • Be willing to work as part of a team to provide a high quality education
  • Show a clear understanding of Education and Care Services National Law Act and Regulations, The National Quality Standards, Child Safe Standards and the Victoria Early Years Learning and Development Framework Early Childhood
  • The ability to effectively communicate with children, families and professionals
  • The ability to facilitate effective communication and day-to-day supervision of relevant staff / volunteers performing duties in the program for which you will be directly responsible
  • Work in a cooperative manner with the Committee & Director
  • Motivation, initiative and the ability to work autonomously as part of a collaborative team
The Teacher will work as part of a team to ensure kindergarten operations comply with relevant legislation, regulations, policy and procedure including direct supervision of children and the creation and maintenance of a safe and healthy kindergarten environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (recognised by ACECQA)
  • Current VIT registration
  • Current First Aid Certificate/Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Current protecting children – Mandatory Reporting
