About the Centre/Service
Bimbadeen Preschool an independent, community-based preschool that delivers a quality and affordable early years education program for 3 and 4-year-old children in Mooroolbark. The preschool is overseen by a volunteer Committee of Management (Committee). The primary focus of the preschool is to encourage children to engage in play-based learning that is imaginative, interesting, relevant and meaningful to their growth and development.

Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Centre Manager who is experienced in working in a kindergarten environment, commencing January 2025.
You will also work on the floor on Wednesday and Friday providing lunch cover for the 4 year old teachers.
You will work collaboratively with the Committee of Management and staff at Bimbadeen Pre-School to provide effective leadership, management and administration of the service in accordance with all applicable legislation including the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations. Specifically, you will be required to:
• Undertake all responsibilities associated with being a Centre Manager of Bimbadeen Pre-School in accordance with the Education and Care Children's Services Regulations and Act.
• Act in accordance with the authority delegated by the Committee of Management (employer) ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and Regulations applicable to Bimbadeen Pre-School.
• Perform the duties of the Nominated Supervisor and Education Leader for the service.
• Oversee the day-to-day administration of the preschool including preparation of required reports for the Committee, Department of Education (DE), and other authorities.
• Ensure up-to-date records of operations and information about children attending Bimbadeen Pre-School required under the Act and Regulations are maintained.
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as the DE, Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) and local government.
• Manage the annual enrolment process including managing waiting lists, sending out offers and confirming places on the EnrolNow system..
• Prepare and distribute communications to families, responding to parent queries.
• Manage completion of enrolment documentation by all families.
• Enter data into the Arrival system.
• Manage the kindergarten’s website and other relevant information streams.
• Lead the process of performance development planning and evaluations for all Early Childhood Teachers and any other direct reports and support them in their professional development.
• Prepare surveys as required, analyse results and report to the Committee and any relevant bodies.
• Plan, coordinate and attend, Bimbadeen Pre-School Open Day, in May each year.
• Ensure all documentation is maintained accurate and up to date. This includes all Policies, Procedures and Emergency Management Plan.
• Liaise with external parties, such as cleaners and bookkeeper, etc., and track planning activities around centre improvements and support education team planning, as required.
• Assist in day to day matters of the kinder and ensure continuity and consistency across Committee and educators and perform any other ad-hoc administrative duties, as required.
• Funded Agency Channel: keep the department up to date with system access permissions and complete the yearly SACC.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, being approachable and well respected.
• Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents, staff and the Committee of Management.
• Dual role (educator) experience and applicability is essential, to be able to support with staff with break times, as required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative requirements in the early childhood sector is desirable.
• Knowledge of Arrival (KIMS) and NQAITS is desirable
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of Storypark and Microsoft suite.

Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate 111 in Early Childhood Education or equivilient
- Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor as required under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, or be nominated as a person in a leadership position or with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the centre.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC) assessment, which demonstrates suitability for employment in a children’s service.
- A current approved first aid qualification, approved anaphylaxis management training and approved emergency asthma management training, in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies.
- Current Child Protection, Child Safety, Reportable Conduct Scheme and Mandatory Reporting training.
