About the Centre/Service
Ferntree Gully 3 Year Old Preschool is a community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten service,
operated by a parent/guardian Committee of Management. Our preschool is passionate about
creating strong partnerships with families and the wider community.
We pride ourselves on our play based learning environment, delivering a quality program
incorporating the Reggio Emilia approach towards learning through play. We use open ended
resources that allow children to connect to nature, encourage inquiry and inspire their imagination.
Our large beautiful tree-filled yard encourages a passion for nature and sustainability. We believe
children need to develop a love of nature and the outdoors in order to develop an appreciation for
the environment.
We are fully inclusive and provide our children with flexible routines to encourage and support
deeper thinking, investigation and foster independence.

Description
Ferntree Gully Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate educator with a Cert III
in Early Childhood Education or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education to join our preschool to
provide support to the teachers and lunch relief on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 3 hours. Mondays and Wednesday are with our 3 year old group and Tuesday and Thursdays are with our 4 year old group. The position is permanent part-time commencing in Term 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will support and work closely alongside our teachers, Administration &
Payroll Officer and the Committee of Management to deliver high quality support for our children.
Duties include:
● Provide support during session and lunch cover on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (times can be discussed during interviews)
● Operate within the requirements of the preschool’s policies and procedures, as well as
funding and regulatory requirements and the budget allocation.
● Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement
Plan of the service.
● Participating in writing observations, and implementing curriculum and activities, supporting
the Reggio Emilia educational approach
● Other duties as directed by the Teacher and Committee of Management from time-to-time.
● Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice.

Qualifications
Essential requirements
● Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards diploma qualification with at
least 50% completed) or Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
● Hold a current approved first aid qualification, approved anaphylaxis management
qualification and approved emergency asthma management qualification.
Working with children's check.
