About the Centre/Service
We are a beautiful, double unit sessional Kinder located in Toorak. We have 2 groups of 3yo and 2 groups of 4yo in the Kinder. We are located behind a church but we aren't affiliated with the church so anyone is welcome to apply.

John Mackenzie Kindergarten (JMK) is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic 4 year-old teacher to join our much loved kinder community which has over 50 years of history.
Supported by our experienced Director and Co-educators, this position will play a lead role in setting and implementing a rich learning environment for the 4 and 5-year old children. Through play based learning we encourage our children to explore, investigate, imagine and invent in a child led/teacher supported program.
Set within the beautiful grounds of the Toorak Uniting Church, JMK’s north facing mid-century architecturally designed building comprises two large light filled classrooms and an expansive and recently renovated outdoor play area. Our emphasis on community engagement sees our families and local community play an important role in our learning and social activities during the year.
The right candidate can demonstrate the following:
-Community-minded to fit in with our beautiful Kinder which is more like a big family
-Excellent verbal and written English
-Place the development of our children at the core of everything you do
-Strong understanding of play based learning
-Ability to build strong relationship with both colleagues and families
-Competent in various forms of technology , Digital communication apps, digital sign-ins, observations and learning stories
-Experience using Observational Apps
-Experience working in sessional Kinders
- 5 years minimum experience working in the Early Childhood field
-Maintain a high level of understanding of the Victorian Early Years Framework and National Quality Standards
