About the Centre/Service An opportunity has become available for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our wonderful team at St Paul’s Anglican Kindergarten Canterbury. At our kindergarten, we believe that children learn best through play. Play provides opportunities for the children to learn as they discover, create, improvise and imagine. Our team welcomes and supports all children and works closely in partnerships with families and external agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Work Days of the Role Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Hours of Work of the Role 8.00am - 4.00pm
Description Diploma Qualified Educator- commencing Term 1 2025 4 year old Kindergarten group Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (session times 8.30am to 3.00pm + non-contact time) A one year part time contract with a possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff in 2026. Hours will be 18 contact hours per week plus 4.5 hours non contact = 22.5 hours paid per week
Qualifications
  • A relevant Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood Education
  • Current First Aid & Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Undergone Mandatory Child Protection Training

Additional Requirements ● Be able to take direction and work collaboratively with the Early Childhood Teacher ● Value the importance of working together as a team and value each team member ● Have excellent verbal and written communication skills ● Be confident when communicating with children, parents, other educators and management ● Be proactive in implementing a fun and exciting play-based curriculum in a team friendly setting ● Be aware of and adhere to the Children’s Services regulations and have a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Framework ● Have experience working with technology (computer and iPad) ● Attend weekly group meetings and monthly staff meetings (paid) ● Attend and contribute to relevant professional development programs recommended by the Educational Leader and Committee of management (paid) ● Experience working with the committee of management is preferred
