About the Centre/Service
Situated on Bunurong land, Hampton Community Kindergarten Inc. offers 15 hours per week of three and four-year-old funded kindergarten. Our kindergarten has a professional and passionate team of highly experienced teachers and educators. Our programs are play-based and offer children opportunities to follow their interests and grow through exploring developmentally appropriate experiences and challenges. In addition to our regular program, we offer an optional third day of kinder to our four-year-old children which parents fund. We also provide a Beach Kinder and Community Engagement program for all of our four-year-old children in Terms 2 & 3, offering children the chance to explore their local environment, develop an interest in nature and be active and visible in their community. Our Kindergarten is bright and inviting, with a spacious kindergarten room and large outdoor area for children to explore and play. Hampton Community Kindergarten has zero tolerance toward child abuse and a key focus of our kindergarten is to keep children safe. This is achieved through our policies, procedures and processes which align to the 11 Child Safe Standards for Victoria.
Our kindergarten sits on the Aboriginal people’s land, Bunurong Land. Through our commitment to being a voice for generations, we weave Indigenous perspectives into all of our curriculum. We strive to cultivate in our children a deep understanding and respect for the Indigenous people’s rich history and their enduring relationship with this land. Our promise is to show love, care and respect for the land and its traditional custodians, including learning about how to protect our beautiful coastal area and Indigenous coastal trails along Hampton beach.

Description
Role Starts 28th January 2025. Tuesday and Thursday - Set hours 8am-4:30pm. Plus 1.5 hours planning time.
This role involves working as a Diploma Educator in our 3 year old Koala group who come 15 hours per week. The group has 28 children and you will work alongside an experienced Bachelor Qualified Teacher and Diploma Educator. We run a progressive program with an emergent curriculum which values the voices of children and provides opportunities for Educators to lead projects for learning, be involved in planning and documentation, working as an integral part of the Koala group team.
We are seeking candidates who are experienced, but equally willing to continue a journey as lifelong learners striving toward best practice for children.
People who have worked at our kindergarten have commented that they are drawn to the welcoming feel created by staff and families. Staff are supported by a dedicated Director who oversees the day to day running of the kindergarten in line with the National Quality Framework, and an active committee of management.
We involve ourselves in the community including engaging with other local kindergarten's, schools and teaching networks, and have even hosted and presented at networks ourselves. We provide lots of opportunities for growth, and to share and learn from one another, and for staff to take on leadership roles through 'passion projects' within the setting.
