About the Centre/Service
Location: 15 Wallbrook Drive, Vermont South (until Term 2, 2025, then moving to 12 Purches Street, Mitcham VIC 3132)
Type: Part-Time (22.5 hours/week across 3 days)
Session Hours: Monday- Wednesday and Wednesday to Friday
Heatherdale Preschool is a parent-run committee preschool located in Mitcham, committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment for children to explore, grow, and develop. With a philosophy centered on warm, open-ended, play-based learning, we strive to foster a deep sense of belonging, well-being, and identity in every child. Our team works collaboratively to provide enriching and interactive experiences for our two four-year-old groups and one three-year-old group.
We are seeking two passionate, experienced, and diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our team. Working alongside our current teachers, these roles offer an opportunity to inspire and support children’s growth within our caring community.

About the Role:
As our Early Childhood Educator, you will:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a play-based curriculum that embraces children’s unique ideas, cultures, and interests.
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, nurturing strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain meticulous records, observations, and assessments to support each child’s learning journey.
- Work in line with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and Heatherdale’s Quality Improvement Plan.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold:
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (recognised by ACECQA).
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and National Quality Framework.
- Current VIT registration (depending on qualifications), Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
- First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications (ACECQA compliant).
- Child Protection training and knowledge.
- Exceptional time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Additional Requirements
Preferable but Not Essential
Food Handling Certificate (training can be arranged if needed).
Previous experience working with a parent committee of management.
An interest in sustainability initiatives.
