Description
Opportunity to join our team
We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our tight-knit team to support our sessional kindergarten program. This is a part-time fixed term contract to support the extended leave arrangements for one of our long-term employees. Please note that applications from those working towards a early childhood teaching qualification will be highly considered, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent teacher position by 2026 for suitable applicants.
This position would appeal to an educator who has a keen interest in providing opportunities for children to connect with the natural environment through outdoor play and beach kindergarten sessions.
At our kindergarten, we provide play-based learning for our children, with a good balance between intentional teaching and child-led learning. We are seeking an educator who is experienced in documenting observations of children, and supporting goal setting for individual children to enable effective scaffolding of learning.
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by taking ownership of our Extended Kindercare Program and coordinating our Lending Library Program for both our 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs.
Responsibilities
The Early Childhood Co-Educator shall undertake duties commensurable to their experience and as outlined in the VECTEA 2020 Roles & Responsibilities Schedule 4.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold the following qualifications and certifications:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (Those working towards a teaching qualification will be highly considered)
- Current First Aid certification (HLTAID004 – Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education & Care Setting) Training) (includes CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification)
- Satisfactory National Police History Check dated in the past 6 months
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check
- Previous experience working in a sessional kindergarten considered favourably.
