About the Centre/Service
Lady Forster Kindergarten (LFK) is a two-room community-managed, not-for-profit kindergarten located right on the foreshore of Elwood Beach. We celebrate our Centenary in 2024 - 100 years of educating children with a proud history of connection with the local community and our enrolments are always at capacity. The kindergarten has just been rated as 'Exceeding' for the third cycle of assessment. Nearly a decade of this consistent rating with the last two cycles rated as Exceeding across all seven Quality Areas - a stable and high-quality kindergarten service with an outstanding reputation.
We provide a range of programs including:
* Sessional Three Year Old Kindergarten
* Sessional Four Year Old Kindergarten
* Extended Hours Four Year Old Kindergarten
* an Occasional Care Program for Three to Five Year Old children on Fridays
* a Holiday Program for Three to Seven Year Old children during our three term breaks.
With the beach on our doorstep and a stunning natural setting, children are immersed in the natural world. We run a weekly bush/beach kindergarten program for each group, which is the highlight of the week for children and educators alike. We are a busy, high-quality service and have been rated as 'exceeding' across all seven Quality Areas in the National Quality Standard. Our small team of staff are warm, experienced and passionate about our children, families and community led by an outstanding Educational Leader. Permanent Full Time: Regular shifts Mon-Fri, within our operating hours 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.
Description
We are a busy community kindergarten looking for a Diploma Qualified Educator to add to our wonderful staffing team who will work across all our programs and our Holiday Programs (for children aged 3-7 years) between each of the three term breaks. The role is 'extra to/above ratio' and full-time.
We are seeking someone who is adaptable, flexible and willing to learn. We have a small cohesive team who support one another and would love to find someone just as passionate and dedicated.

Qualifications
Minimum of a Diploma in Children's Services.
In the past, this role has been a good starting point for a beginning teacher who is not ready to take on an "in-charge role", but would like to learn in a supportive kindergarten environment.
This has allowed the Diploma Qualified Educator to occasionally step in to the teaching role to fill in for sick days and PD training etc without the full responsibility of a teaching role from the outset.
