Work Days of the Role
22.75 hours (Monday , Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
Hours of Work of the Role
Contact time is 15 hours per week across three 5 hours sessions, with 3.75 hours non-contact time and 2 x 2 hours lunch cover. Thursday afternoons may comprise additional hours some weeks with staff meetings, training, and Educational Leader meetings.
Description
- Fixed term contract for 2025, with opportunity for ongoing employment

- Assist the Teacher in the provision of a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for the children and families attending the service
- Plan, prepare and provide a stimulating program for both individual and the group based on their needs, interests and stages of development
- Assist in working with individual and small groups of children
- Attend to the physical, social and emotional needs of the children as required
- Ensure that any child or group of children in the educator's care is adequately supervised, and that every reasonable precaution is taken to protect them from any hazard
- Commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards and adhere to our Code of Conduct
- Work as a member of a cooperative and professional team
- Work as team member and manage their own time and tasks and support their coworkers
- Communicate effectively with children, families, committee members and other staff
- Be passionate about nature play and being part of our bush kinder program
- An ongoing commitment to professional development with a willingness to research current theory relating to childhood Education and care (VEYLDF and NQF) current research/innovative practice
- The ability to contribute to the services Quality Improvement Plan through regular reflection and discussion
- An inclusive attitude to embedding all cultures into the Program, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
- The ability to work within a team and contribute to the documentation of children’s learning and development
- Availability for casual relief work an advantage
- Experience in delivering Multi-Age programs will be viewed favorably.
Qualifications
Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA

Knowledge of and Commitment to National Quality Framework
Knowledge of the Early Years Learning and Development Framework
Knowledge of Education and Care Services National Law Act and Regulations
A strong knowledge and understanding of the New Child Safe Standards 2022
