About the Centre/Service Raleigh St Community Children's Centre is a vibrant and inclusive community-run service dedicated to providing high quality care and education for children. Our staff are a diverse group of passionate education professionals that work to ensure every child and every staff member feels valued and respected. We have been recently assessed as "Exceeding" in all 7 areas of the NQF (for the third time!) and we are looking for educators that are committed to this high level of quality and will contribute proactively to our continual Quality Improvement. In 2025 Raleigh St is expanding and we are looking to fill multiple new roles. Raleigh St Community Children’s Centre is committed to child safety. Work Days of the Role Mon - Fri
Hours of Work of the Role 76 hrs a fortnight
Description This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, delivering high-quality educational programs tailored to the strengths, abilities, and interests of each child. We offer:
  • An above award wage (Currently pay as per the Professional Community Standard 2021 + additional 4%)

  • 5 weeks of annual leave per year (pro-rated)

  • Minimum of 2 hours planning time a week for all F/T educators
  • All rooms are staffed over ratio, with additional planning time built into the roster to support programming, reflection, study and research

Our programs are grounded in the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF) and align with the Centre’s philosophy, which emphasizes community involvement and individual growth, embedded Aboriginal perspectives and appreciation and celebration of diversity in all forms. These full time roles are to support the Centre in our ECEC program delivery, and are available across all age groups.  Raleigh St has a distributive leadership model, which values the inputs of all staff and enables innovative practice to be trialled and implemented through consultative practices. Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to and deliver an engaging and developmentally appropriate educational program
  • Provide strong and attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children
  • Take meaningful and discerning observations to track and support children's development
  • Collaborate with your team to create and implement strategies that meet the individual needs of children, ensuring consistency in approach
  • Communicate effectively with your team and families, ensuring important information is shared and understood
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with children, team members, and families, fostering a positive and respectful environment
Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience in early childhood education
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and the planning cycle
  • Active contributor to the QIP and maintaining the Centre's Exceeding rating
  • A commitment to upholding the Centre’s values and philosophy
  • Mature team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills (written and oral), willing to contribute to conversations regarding best practice
  • Ability to be flexible and problem solve with minimal supervision when necessary
  • Comfortable using digital platforms to record observations, room reports etc.
