Wingate Avenue Children’s Co-operative is a small not-for-profit service located within the Ascot Vale housing estate. Highly regarded within the local community, we pride ourselves on our genuine connections and relationships with our children and their families, including them in every aspect of their child's learning journey. This is promoted further by our committee of management, consisting of current families at the service who hold a special role in advocating and supporting the service vision and long-term goals that best support their children and those attending the service both now and, in the years, to come.

Description
About the role
We are recruiting for an Early Childhood Teacher within our service. The role is permanent and full time, commencing from February 2025. You will be supported by qualified educators, a strong teaching team and a hands-on leadership team.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and supporting a team to provide high quality interactions and inclusive practices
- Ability to develop and implement a high-quality educational program reflecting the diverse nature of the service, local and wider community, based on curriculum frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in the education and care of children aged 3-5 years.
- Ability to work with children, families and colleagues in a warm and respectful manner.
- Clear understanding of Child Safe Standards and Mandatory reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of inclusive practices that support all children to effectively engage within the kindergarten class, including supporting children and their families with additional needs.
- Prior experience with transition reports, Kindergarten funding and Inclusion support funding preferable, but not mandatory.
- Exceeding service with extremely strong ties to the local community which leads our philosophy and service values.
- 8 hours non-contact time per week
- Additional non-contact time allocated for all support staff within the room.
- Additional staff across the service to support high quality inclusion and interactions.

Qualifications
- Must hold a minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA.
- Must be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and continue to renew/maintain the registration during employment.
