About the Centre/Service Ave Maria Kindergarten is three room sessional kindergarten. We are a vibrant, inclusive kindergarten providing quality 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten programs in Aberfeldie. Established in 1957, Ave Maria Kindergarten is a not-for-profit sessional kinder run by a Committee of Management made up of parent volunteers. It is the largest preschool center in the community and has four x 4-year-old groups and three x 3-year-old groups offering programs to approximately 170 families. Our curriculum is play-based and emergent, and our focus is on supporting and extending the children’s interests and strengths to develop confidence, curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning. Our teachers and educators are experienced, enthusiastic and committed to our children, programs and the ongoing success of our kindergarten. As a kindergarten, we are committed to providing a child safe environment. Ave Maria Kindergarten has an excellent reputation for its early year's programs.

Description

We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Bachelor, who is committed to providing a sense of confidence, joy and wonder to life and learning. The position is in a 3 year old class, session times are Tuesday and Friday 8:00am-3:30pm, with planning on Monday for a total of 23 hours over the week. Starting term 1 2025, we are a sessional kindergarten therefore we are closed on school holidays.

The successful candidate will have a current understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning  Framework, Early Childhood Education and Care Legislation and the Assessment and Rating Process. Have a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, the committee of management (employer), the director, parents, other staff and professionals. Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents, staff, director and committee of management. Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA recognised equivalent) or equivalent
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Mandatory reporting
  • First Aid level 2
  • Minimum 4 years experience in early years as a teacher
