Key Selection Criteria – Kindergarten Teacher & Educational Leader 1. High-quality early childhood teaching and learning Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate engaging, play-based learning programs that are responsive to children’s interests, strengths, cultures, identities and individual learning needs. 2. Knowledge of early childhood frameworks and practice Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant legislation, with the ability to translate theory and evidence into effective everyday practice. 3. Educational leadership and continuous improvement Demonstrated capacity to lead, support and mentor educators to strengthen teaching practice, curriculum planning, documentation and assessment, and to contribute to ongoing quality improvement across the kindergarten. 4. Strong relationships and inclusive practice Demonstrated ability to build respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships with children, families, colleagues and the wider community, promoting inclusion, belonging, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every child. 5. Reflective practice and professional collaboration Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice, professional learning and collaborative decision-making, with the ability to use observation, documentation, assessment and evidence to inform and improve practice. 6. Commitment to community, reconciliation and school partnerships Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, rights of the child, reconciliation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultural responsiveness and community engagement, together with the ability to contribute positively to the strong partnership between Mount Pleasant Road Kindergarten and Primary School.
