About the Centre/Service Our kindergarten programs are developed and delivered by qualified Early Childhood Teachers through a balance of play based learning and intentional teaching. The National Quality Standards and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, which supports children’s learning and development through five key areas of development – Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication, guide the learning programs that are delivered at our Kindergartens.

Description This position requires the the Early Childhood Teacher to lead a team of educators and the educational program for the three and four year old kinder program in Sea Lake.  The position requires the leader to have a sound understanding of Early Childhood Development, have communication and leadership skills to create a welcoming, caring and supportive environment for children to achieve full potential and foster strong relationships with families.  The person must be able to work autonomously, be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative and work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with the Early Years Manager. As the Educational Leader you will inspire, lead and mentor Early Years staff and drive pedagogical practices aligned to MTHCS values, policies and procedures.
Qualifications KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or any such qualification as approved by Early Childhood Australia
  • Proven ability to provide high ethical standards and represent MTHCS in a professional manner
  • Displays Leadership and mentor skills to empower educators to reflect on practice and develop skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good time management with the ability to plan, work and manage time effectively without direct supervision
  • An interest in improving the health of families through the delivery of children's voices
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development
  • Ability to prepare, document and implement a detailed developmentally appropriate educational program for children with parental/guardian input
  • A demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Current Police Check
  • Current VIT registration
