About the Centre/Service
The Elwood Children's Centre is a quaint 39-place community-run centre with incorporated 3 and 4-year-old funded kindergarten programs. We are not-for-profit and prioritise small group sizes and play-based learning programs.
We value play-based learning and provide non-rushed, open-ended programs with an emphasis on natural and recycled play materials. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and encourage important life skills such as independence and problem-solving.

Description
A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced Kindergarten Teacher to join our small, highly motivated and cohesive team.
We are offering a full-time, fixed-term position, starting 6th January 2025 and ending on the 19th of December 2025. The role will be for our 4-Year-Old Kinder program with a maximum of 14 children per day. You will be supported by a qualified and motivated co-educator, with 6hrs of planning each week.
You will be required to work a rotating roster between the hours of 7:15am - 6:00pm.
Prior experience in early childhood education, and an ability to confidently implement planning and documentation requirements is a must.
You will be required to complete School Transition Statements during term 4 for the children who will be Commencing school the following year.
Staff meetings are currently held one evening per month, in which attendance is required.

Qualifications
In order to apply, you MUST hold the following:
- Relevant qualifications – Bachelor of Education and current VIT Teaching registration. If you do not hold these qualifications, your application will not be considered.

- Current first aid qualifications
