About the Centre/Service
The foundation of strong and purposeful relationships is central to everything that we do. Box Hill North offers a unique opportunity for families to commence their childs learning journey from 3 year-old kindergarten; transitioning seamlessly into the primary setting and providing continuity of established relationships, learning and personal connections. The kindergarten is ideally located central to the primary school and we pride ourselves on providing a genuine nine-year learning experience for our children with strong connections to community.
We currently provide for 88 children, operating two 3 year-old programs and two 4 year old programs. Extended care is available, together with access to the primary school’s out of hours care program. Our staff are experienced and work in partnership to provide best opportunities and developmental experiences for our children.

Description
Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten has an opportunity for a full-time co-educator to work at our kindergarten with our three and four-Year-old groups. 8:00am to 4:00pm, with one day a week finishing at 4:30pm. The four-year-old group operating on Monday, Thursday and Friday, and the three-year-old group operating on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The position is 38 hours per week, including teaching and planning hours. Planning time will be before and after each kindergarten session. This is an fixed term contract position, beginning January 2025, and is paid under the VECTEA 2020 agreement.
Qualifications
The successful applicant is someone who will come in with confidence into a well-established team, and be a positive and enthusiastic team player. We require someone who is able to work collaboratively with others, and be able to have input in all aspects of the service. The position requires the educator to assist the early childhood teacher deliver a high-quality program, document children’s learning and follow each child’s interests and development level with care and passion. We have a high standard of care, and are looking for someone who has a strong passion for teaching children and being their guide through their learning journey at kinder. The successful application will be creative in setting up experiences, brainstorm with the team about ideas and ensure our kindergarten continues to be a safe and supportive environment for our children, staff, families and community.

Specific responsibilities
• Assist in the planning and implementation of a culturally rich and Interest-led program, in consultation with the early childhood teacher/director, parents and other educators
• Create a supportive and welcoming learning environment, as well as ensuring experiences are appropriate for child's developmental skills and levels
• Ensure the program is inclusive for all children, including ensuring the program for children with a disability is accessible
• Assist early childhood teacher in developing, recording and maintaining specific records of individual children through observations, group stories, learning stories and other documentation.
• Working with all staff to ensure that children are adequately supervised at all times
• Support the participation of parents in the program
• As part of a team, facilitate effective communication with others and be open to feedback
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and professionals.
• Work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents, staff, other professionals and the school council.
• Attend staff meetings, PDs and other work-related events as a part of professional development and service requirements
