Davis Street Kindergarten is a community of learners, where children are encouraged to develop a strong self-image and love of learning. We have a rich history and tradition, and have been offering an early childhood service of the highest quality since 1958. The Kindergarten building has two classrooms: offering a sessional 3YO program, a sessional 4YO program, and a 4YO Pre-Prep program. All of our programs are influenced by the educational projects of Reggio Emilia. Our kindergarten and programs are highly regarded within the Community; we have been assessed against the National Quality Framework and have received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’ in 2025. Our programs reflect an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s ways of knowing and being. Our programs are delivered by creative and experienced team members in welcoming classrooms with two stimulating outdoor gardens, providing one of the largest kindergarten outdoor environments in Boroondara. Our team members are highly skilled, many have longevity of service, and have a strong commitment to professional development, with each staff member encouraged to be a champion in their preferred field. Davis Street Kindergarten is committed to children’s safety and wellbeing in accordance with the requirements of the Child Safe Standards, Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, NQS and other relevant policies and legislation. We have zero tolerance to child abuse and are committed to actively contributing to a child safe environment where children are protected from abuse. We are a Child Safe Organisation. Davis Street Kindergarten is committed to being a flexible, safe, equal, and inclusive workplace where we embrace and support diversity. We encourage applications from people who are from different backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and people of any age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, ability, sexual orientation, and cultural background.
