Position Details
Leslie Moorhead Pre-School is a community-focused preschool located in the heart of Mornington. Our mission is to create a secure and nurturing learning environment where every child can reach their full potential. We are committed to inclusive education that values each child’s interests, abilities, culture, gender, and family structure. We recognise that families are our most valuable partners in a child’s development, and we strive to build positive relationships between families, staff, and children. This ensures that everyone feels welcome and encouraged to engage fully in the preschool experience, strengthening the connection between home, pre-school, and the broader community. At Leslie Moorhead Pre-School, our program is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework, with a strong emphasis on play-based learning. We encourage children to explore, be independent, and develop creativity, resilience, and curiosity. Our spacious outdoor area, recently awarded a significant government grant for upgrades, is filled with natural materials that promote active and healthy play. The project aims to expand opportunities for children to learn about environmental care, practice sustainability, and connect with our Indigenous heritage. Our dedicated staff and parent committee work collaboratively to manage, maintain, and continually improve our service. At Leslie Moorhead Pre-School, our goal is for children to feel safe, happy, and empowered. We are committed to supporting and respecting all children, as well as our staff and volunteers.
