About the Centre/Service

Paratea Preschool is a vibrant not for profit community kindergarten nestled within the beautiful natural bushland of Paratea Reserve in Frankston South. Managed by a dedicated Parent Committee of Management, we offer both 3 year old and 4 year old sessional kindergarten programs to children and families within our local community. We are proud to have a dedicated and long standing team of educators who work collaboratively to create welcoming, inclusive and engaging learning environments. Our play based programs are guided by children’s strengths, interests, ideas and individual needs, with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) underpinning our educational practice. At Paratea we believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and empowered. Our curriculum is rich and varied incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, music, art, language, sustainability, emotional wellbeing, science, numeracy and literacy through meaningful play based experiences Our unique natural setting is an important part of who we are. Both our 3 year old and 4 year old programs participate in Bush Kinder from May to November, providing children with regular opportunities to learn on Country, explore the natural environment and build their confidence, curiosity and connection with the Paratea Reserve that surrounds our preschool.
