About the Centre/Service Headland Montessori Alma Road is a 60-place Montessori long day care centre located behind Temple Beth Israel in Alma Road St Kilda, catering for children 18 months to 6 years of age. Work Days of the Role Monday to Friday

Description Headland Montessori invites applications from Diploma trained Early Childhood educators for this Lead Educator position in the Infant Community (18 months – 3 years) classroom at our Alma Road campus commencing November 2021. This is a maternity leave replacement, initially for a 12 month period. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • A sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Interest in implementing a Montessori program
  • Experience in observing, planning & documenting children’s learning
  • Some exposure to using digital learning platforms such as Playground
  • The ability to mentor, inspire and guide a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications The successful candidate will have an appreciation and willingness to engage with the Montessori philosophy which will guide their practise and daily interactions with children, staff, and families. They will  hold a minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. They will also have a current WWCC, First Aid and Anaphylaxis Training certificate and full Australian working rights.
