About the Centre/Service Sunnyside kindergarten is a stand-alone community-committee managed Kindergarten which specialises in sessional kindergarten.Sunnyside is a child safe organisation with zero tolerance to child abuse, and has a child-safe standards policy. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy were children are viewed as competent, capable and co constructors. We are a highly sought-after kindergarten in our local area. Our strengths are our relationships and engagements with children, families and high-quality program.
Work Days of the Role Wednesday and Thursdays
Hours of Work of the Role 12 hours (including 4 non-contact)
Description We are looking for a motivated and friendly  Teacher to join our team as part of our 3-year-old program. The kindergarten is unique, catering for two 3-year-old kindergarten classes with 25 children and two 4-year-old kindergarten classes of 28 children.  Sunnyside has extensive resources, wonderful expansive class rooms and outdoor garden that kids love. Additionally we have a supportive community-based environment and management team.  You will work closely with other educators across the kindergarten in a collaborative manner and you will be required to meet regularly with the Educational Leader and the other Teachers at the Kindergarten to strive for best practice, high quality education and care. Our group size is 25children with 3 Educators (1 kindergarten Teacher, 1x Diploma qualified Educator and certificate 111 Educators).A further opportunity exists to work our extended hours program on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5.30pm which includes contact hours 2 and non-contact 30minutes; if desirable.
Qualifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education (Early childhood), Masters of Teaching in Early years or equivalent recognised by ACECQA
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • VIT registration,
  • National Police Check;
  • First aid
  • Annual update of CPR
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Asthma training
  • Obligations Mandatory Reporting Training
  • Understanding of Reportable conduct ‘Child safe standards’
  • Computer skills
  • Understanding of Reggio inspired philosophy
  • An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
