About the Centre/Service Highvale Preschool is a not for profit, community run preschool, offering sessional programs for both 3 and 4 year old children. Our team of educators follow our centre’s Philosophy to provide a Reggio inspired, play based program which offers our children the experience of learning through open-ended experiences and a team approach to planning within the whole centre. Sustainability plays an important role in all that we do. A strong sense of belonging and community involvement underpins our values and helps to build on our relationships with families. The educational program is based on the National and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Frameworks. Sessions are: 2021 - Wednesday 8.45-11.00 and Fridays 9.15-1.30. 2022 - Wednesday 9.00-11.00 and Fridays 9.00-1.30. Non-contact time of 4.25 hours can be arranged to suit successful applicant Total hours per week: 10.75 hours

Description Highvale Preschool is seeking a committed, motivated and nurturing Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. Previous experience as a kindergarten teacher at a sessional service is preferred but not essential. You would be responsible for the planning and delivery of the three year old program, working closely with the Educational Leader/4 year old Teacher and supported by two co-educators. Your main focus will be to nurture the development of the children in a positive play based learning environment, building strong relationships with both the children and their families. The position is part time working 2 days a week (Wednesday 8.45-11 and Friday 9.15-1.30). 6.5 teaching hours, 3.25 planning hours and 1 hour per week for administration duties. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a great team of highly experienced staff within a well-respected community kindergarten with a strong emphasis on a play based program and whole of service approach to planning. Qualifications Applicants must have:
  • A minimum Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications)
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) card
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certificates
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the VEYLDF, EYLF, NQS and planning cycle
  • Willingness/ability to be able to work additional hours as required
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • A minimum Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications)

Additional Requirements • High interpersonal skills, outstanding ability to communicate, highly organised, well developed time management skills, ability to work with a parent lead Committee of Management, collaborative approach to planning and implementation.
