About the Centre/Service Jacaranda Preschool is a sessional Kindergarten in Lalor providing safe and inclusive education to approximately 190 local families. We have three rooms over two sites and run both 3 & 4 year old kindergarten programs. Both of our sites at Kingsway Drive and Nebel Street, Lalor have achieved an Exceeding Rating in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Jacaranda Preschool is committed to child safety. We provide a play based program where play and learning are encouraged and fostered. We also offer Bush Kinder Programs to three of our 4 year old groups at local sites. Jacaranda Preschool is a not for profit sessional kindergarten run by a Committee of Management made up of parent volunteers.
Work Days of the Role Monday - (8.15am -10.45am) and Thursday (2.15pm – 4.45pm)
Hours of Work of the Role 7.5 hours (which includes planning time)
Description This position is for an Early Childhood Teacher for our 3yo group of 22 children, at the Kingsway Drive site.  The position is available to commence immediately until the end of December 2022, with the possibility of the position becoming ongoing. There will also be opportunities to pick up some extra hours.We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Teacher for our Joey Group who will work alongside an Early Childhood Educator. This position is great for an applicant seeking part time hours or a new graduate to begin in the industry.The successful applicant will be confident in their ability to engage with children in a nurturing manner to deliver a high-quality early years program that delivers positive outcomes for children and their families. You will work as an effective and collaborative team member with other staff within the kindergarten. You will proactively support a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement toward achieving positive outcomes for each child and their family.
  • A Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification
  • A current First Aid qualification (including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management)
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Covid Vaccination Certificate
  • A current Police Check
  • Child safe training (DET online module as a minimum)
  • An understanding of Child Safe Standards and Child Protection and the Victorian and National Frameworks
