About the Centre/Service The Keysborough Freedom Club Co-Operative Limited, located in Keysborough and established in 1975, provides a long day care and kindergarten service to children aged between 6 months and 5 years.

Description We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher for our 3 year old Kinder program for 2023.The role is for approx. 20 hours per week, with days and start date negotiable. Our Kinder Room currently has 24-27 children (3-5yrs). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the 4 Year Old Kinder teacher & Assistant with programming for the room.The role of the 3 year old Kindergarten Teacher is to:
  • Assist with Planning and implementation of a fortnightly age-appropriate school readiness program for the children reflecting the 4 year old program set for that fortnight.
  • Run group times for 3 year olds relating back to the program.
  • Create stimulating opportunities, experiences and activities for children which will allow them to learn, explore and discover within the framework.
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively with other educators, staff and parents to optimise the success of the program.
  • Use your initiative in the running of the 3 year old Kinder program and take ownership of the tasks allocated by the 4 year old kinder teacher.
  • Contribute to regular observations and learning stories
  • Complete any 2nd year Kinder applications, if necessary
  • Regularly add to the children’s portfolios
  • Liaise regularly with families about the progress of their child through parent teacher meetings, phone calls or face to face conversations.
  • Work as part of a team to create a safe, welcoming and caring environment for the children.
  • Assist management with SRF applications.
This role would suit a new graduate. All qualified applicants considered.
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks and an understanding of the National Quality Standards
  • Mandatory Child Protection
  • Food handling Certification (Safe Food Handling)
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis Certification and CPR Certification
  • A current Police Check
  • Primary English speaker or Fluent English speaker
  • Good teamwork spirit
  • Good communication skills
  • Infectious control Training (Covid-19)
