About the Centre/Service Gardiner Preschool is a community based, non-profit, stand-alone sessional kindergarten in Glen Iris. We ensure children grow and learn via our dynamic play-based curriculum, delivered by passionate staff, that are well supported by an inclusive and caring kindergarten community. In 2022, the preschool will operate two four-year-old groups and two three- year old groups (see www.gardiner.vic.edu.au for more information on our centre).
Work Days of the Role Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are session days. Planning day is organised around this.
Hours of Work of the Role Around 30hrs per week
Description Gardiner Preschool is currently seeking an outstanding Early Childhood Teacher to join its passionate and committed team in 2022. The successful applicant be will responsible for planning and implementing the Program for a group of up to 22 children who attend a government funded 4Y0 program for 21hrs a week. The role is approximately 30 hours per week, over 4 days and will start at the beginning of the school year 2022. You will deliver a high-quality emergent curriculum in line with the VEYLDF that values children as competent and capable and sets them on the path to be valued citizens of society. You will work in partnership with, and show respect to your fellow Educators and families to shape a fun, creative environment that will enrich our children and enable them to confidently step into their future schools. Qualifications Essential criteria
  • Passionate about children’s education
  • ACECQA approved Kindergarten Teacher qualification (Bachelor of Education ECE or equivalent)
  • VIT Registration
  • Strong pedagogical beliefs
  • Sound working knowledge of the VEYLDF and the NQF
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis certificate.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
