About the Centre/Service Lady Forster Kindergarten is a community-managed, not for profit 49-place service located on the foreshore of Elwood Beach offering 3 & 4 year old Kindergarten Programs (Sessional and Extended Hours), Occasional Care and Holiday Programs. Work Days of the Role Monday to Friday
Hours of Work of the Role Approx. 10am-6pm daily
Description We are seeking a creative, responsible and enthusiastic educator to join our small team on Elwood Beach in 2022. The Activity Group Leader will have responsibility for planning and implementing: -The daily After Care Program (after kindergarten care for children in our four year old extended hours kindergarten program) -Holiday Programs during the three term breaks (we close at the end of term four and reopen in term one). This program is available to any child aged 3-7 years of age. -The Friday Occasional Care Program (this is a program for our sessional three and four year old children). This role has great scope for someone to: -develop their leadership skills in a supported environment -work alongside experienced teachers and learn on the job -develop programming skills as part of our team planning approach -put their own stamp on the program and be creative As well as planning and implementing the program, the Activity Group Leader will have responsibility for: -Closing the kindergarten alongside another educator at the end of the day -Acting as the responsible person in the absence of the teacher/director/manager -Leading and directing other educators within the programs -Contributing to team planning for the kindergarten program -Helping implement or coastal curriculum program Highly desirable: -Having previously worked in a service rated as exceeding -Having previously worked in a leadership position -Having the ability to manage rosters and rostering This role has traditionally been attractive to educators wanting to gain experience in a stand alone kindergarten before stepping into a teaching role.  There may be some relief teaching available to suitably qualified educators.
Qualifications Minimum Diploma in Children's Services

Additional Requirements • Diploma • Current Working With Children Check • Child Protection/Mandatory Reporting Module certificate • Current First Aid Certificate; Asthma, Anaphylaxis, CPR training • Sound knowledge of education frameworks
