  Karmai Community Children's Centre is excited to be part of the first roll out of funded 3-year-old kinder in 2020.  We will be offering 15hours of 3-year-old kindergarten in 2020 and are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team.  You will work closely with your colleagues in a collaborative practice model to deliver best practice, high quality care and education to our funded Kindergarten programs.   The position is between 35-38 hrs per week and will support primarily; the 3-year-old program however may also be involved with the 4-year-old program as well. You will be working within a team of Qualified Early Learning Educators and will work collaboratively with additional Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher in our child self-guided curriculum which features exploration, discovery and encourages curiosity.   At Karmai we are proud of our community connections and engage with the community on many levels across the whole organisation, through excursions, incursions, community wide activities and learning from our valued members of the local community.   As an Early Childhood Teacher at Karmai you will;
  • develop and deliver a quality education program and practice that ensures the care and development of each child in the program
  • work closely with the whole Karmai team to build positive relationships with children and families
  • demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written with co-workers, families and children
  • be incredibly passionate and excited about providing high quality, innovative and creative programs and service
  • support and work collaboratively with you colleagues to deepen their understanding of the curriculum and embed a culture of ongoing reflective practice.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent as recognised by (ACECQA assessed)
  • Previous experience as an Early Childhood Teacher, with demonstrated experience in implementing VEYLF, EYLF and NQF
  • Victorian Institute of teaching Registration (VIT)
  • Passion and enthusiasm for creating a happy, nurturing, relaxed and enriched environment where play experiences are fun, exciting, spontaneous, stimulating, comforting and challenging.
  • Current first aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management
  • National Police check

  Successful applicants could be eligible for individual incentive payments of up to $9,000 will be available for early childhood teachers choosing to teach in the 2020 and 2021 roll-out areas.
