About the Centre/Service Mooroolbark Early Childhood Education Centre was formed fifty five years ago as a non-profit community service to families with young children. We provide two toddler group programs, 2 3 year old programs and two four year old programs in a traditional sessional format. The kinder is operated by a parent-run Committee who have procedures embedded to help truly value their employees and create a positive work culture. At MECEC we believe that all children have the right to experience the wonder of childhood, to grow and investigate through rich quality play in a warm and respectful environment with reflects our diverse community. Our teachers and educators play a vital role in achieving this.

Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Certificate III Educator to join our experienced team at Mooroolbark Early Childhood Education Centre for a fixed term contract, commencing on 29th January 2019. The successful applicant will report to the Teacher and Diploma Educator of one of our two four year old groups. This is permanent part-time role for 12.5hours per week (10 contact hours , 2.5 hours non-contact)consisting of two morning sessions ( Tuesday 8:00am - 2:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am-12:00pm) working with a class of up to 30 children in a four year old program. The centre has no after hours service and is closed during Victorian School holidays.

Qualifications Applicants must have an approved Certificate III level  Education and care qualification or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge VEYLDF and EYLF along with the national quality standard and current regulations. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist them in engaging with the Parent Committee, parents & guardians and fellow staff members and other contacts. They will need to demonstrate their ability to work as apart of a team. They will need to work with the teaching team and the Committee to continually improve practices and assist with the development of a high quality education program for our children. MECEC is committed to providing a child safe environment and all employees must demonstrate a commitment to child safety, be aware of their responsibilities in this area and undertake relevant training as required.
