About the Centre/Service Doncaster Kindergarten was formed over fifty years ago as a non-profit community service to families with young children. We provide one three year old program and two four year old programs in a traditional sessional format. Despite the kinder's age, it has the benefit of being located in beautiful modern facilities with an inviting playspace and garden which is much loved by our children. The kinder is operated by a parent-run Committee who have procedures embedded to help truly value their employees and create a positive work culture. At Doncaster Kindergarten we believe that all children have the right to experience the wonder of childhood, to grow and to investigate through rich quality play in a warm and respectful environment which reflects the diversity of our community. Our teachers and educators play a vital role in this.

Description We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Certificate III Educator to join our experienced team at Doncaster Kindergarten commencing on Tuesday 28th January 2020. The successful applicant will report to the Teacher of one of our two four year old groups. This is a 12 month fixed term part-time role for 19 hours per week (15 contact hours, 4 hours non-contact) consisting of two morning sessions (Wednesday and Friday 8:30am-12.15pm) and two afternoon sessions (Monday and Thursday 12.45pm-4.30pm) working with a class of up to 27 children in a four year old program. The kindergarten has no after hours service and is closed during Victorian school holidays.
Qualifications Applicants must have an approved Certificate III level Education and Care qualification or equivalent (or be working towards a qualification in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations). The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the VEYLDF and EYLF as well as the National Quality Standard and current regulations. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist them in engaging with the Parent Committee, parents, fellow staff members and other contacts. They will need to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team. They will need to work with the teaching team and Committee to continually improve practices and assist with the development of a high quality educational program for our children.
