About the Centre/Service East Beaumaris Kindergarten is a vibrant, inclusive community kindergarten providing quality 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs, set in natural surrounds next to Illaroo Reserve in Beaumaris. East Beaumaris Kindergarten is a not-for-profit sessional kinder run by a Committee of Management made up of parent volunteers. Our curriculum is play based and our focus is on supporting and extending the children’s interests and strengths to develop confidence, curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning. As a kindergarten we are committed to providing a child safe environment and all staff must demonstrate their ongoing responsibility to ensuring child safety. East Beaumaris Kindergarten was assessed in 2017 as ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standards’. In 2020 East Beaumaris Kindergarten is excited to introduce extended care in addition to offering one 3 year old program (8 hours per week) and one 4 year old program (15 hours per week). Description East Beaumaris Kindergarten is seeking a Certificate III Educator to join our Extended Care team in 2020. The role will be as a support to the Extended Care Activity Group Leader and will require the applicant to work co-operatively as a member of a team, and actively contribute to the provision of a high quality, developmentally appropriate program.  You will be responsible for assisting with observations and programming, and will demonstrate an understanding of the Victorian Early Years and Development Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards, and have the ability to create a positive learning environment which stimulates learning and development. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a passion for working with children, and actively contribute to the delivery of the program including preparation of activities and the environment, general order, cleanliness and safety of the service. Qualifications The successful Applicant will have:
  • Min Cert III of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA recognized equivalent);
  • Current WWCC;
  • Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management training;
  • Sound working knowledge Early Years Framework and Child Safety Standards.
