About the Centre/Service Gowrie Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 1939, committed to our purpose to champion good early childhood education and care. Due to recent staff changes a unique opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Children’s Program Director/Manager to lead our 150 place service at Docklands.
Description The Role The Children’s Program Director/Manager will lead and inspire our team of educators and support staff to deliver a high quality education and care program for the children and families at Docklands. The successful candidate will:
  • Lead the overall operation of the program, and inspire the team through their own learning journey
  • Develop strong relationships with families and the local community to ensure the program is meeting their needs
  • Assume all responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor, and ensure compliance with all NQF requirements and internal policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the wider organisation by continuously improving practice through collaboration, reflection and working with the leadership team.

Qualifications Skills and Experience The successful candidate will hold a Diploma (minimum) in ECEC or equivalent and have:
  • Significant experience and demonstrated capacity to lead, inspire and mentor a large and diverse team
  • Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong partnerships with children and their families, educators, Government agencies and the broader community
  • Extensive knowledge and application of the NQF and approved frameworks through an emergent play based curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver inclusive programs that are respectful of diversity and accommodate additional needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a broader leadership team to support the realisation of Gowrie Victoria’s purpose and values.
  • Proven ability to be a reflective leader and practitioner.
