Description What are you going to be doing? In this role, you will be working closely with other educators in a collaborative manner striving for best practice, high quality care and education for young children. You will work on a fulltime rotating roster in a team of 3 staff members in our Early Learners Room with 12 children, aged between 0 and 3 years initially. You will be responsible for delivering a play based program where children are active participants in creating their own environment. We also ask that you participate in some of the out of hours’ social events (paid) that we organise for families, such as Mother’s and Father’s Day evenings, Kew Traffic School and Box Hill Miniature Railway, throughout the year. Specific duties are outlined in a PD which can be requested via email. What's in it for you? You will join a great team – we pride ourselves on the low turnover on staff which makes it an excellent place to be creative and to extend yourself. We have an experienced Director (who has been with the Centre for 25 years), committed to ensuring the Centre is always looking for ways to improve not only the team’s skills through professional development but the programs for the children and the working environment for the team. We work on a rotating roster and you will be offered 1 RDO per fortnight, along with dedicated time for program development and planning. Every two years’ staff rotate through the different rooms to provide you with exposure and the opportunity to develop your skills with a different age group. Each room has an iPad, lap top, wireless broadband and digital cameras to assist in the delivery of programs and with the parent/room communication – something which we are well known for! Who are we looking for? Applicants must have an ACECQA approved Qualification of Diploma Level or higher. Experience is preferred, however graduates are encouraged to apply as we also feel ability and potential are important. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to adapt your communication style depending on the audience. Experience with maintaining children’s individual portfolios is desirable. A high work ethic, a sound knowledge of early childhood development and familiarity with the Early Years Learning Framework and government regulations is essential. At interview, you will need to provide a current WWCC, first aid certificate and evidence of anaphylaxis training. This job is for me! How do I apply?
