About the Centre/Service Appletree Hill Preschool is a community-based sessional kindergarten overseen by a volunteer Committee of Management and is situated in Glen Waverley in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs on the land of the Boon wurrung people of the Kulin Nations. Our Preschool is rated Exceeding the National Quality Standards in all 7 quality areas. We provide a safe, secure and respectful environment which enables children to learn at their own pace, building on their strengths and following their interests. Work Days of the Role Monday to Thursday

Description We invite expressions of interest from experienced Diploma qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our well-established team from Term 1 2022. The role will primarily be working with the 3-year-old funded rotational kindergarten group assisting to deliver the program along with some lunch cover working with the 4-year-old rotational kindergarten group. The role offers employment for 16 hours a week (8.5 hours contact, 2 hours lunch cover and 5.5 hours non-contact) Ideally the successful candidate will have prior experience working in the Early Childhood field. They will have sound knowledge of early childhood development, the Early Childhood Frameworks and the planning cycle including observation taking and goal setting. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of our team. All employees are required to have a current working with children’s check (WWCC) and adhere to the Appletree Hill Preschool Code of Conduct and Child Safe Environment Policies. Attendance at staff meetings and undertaking ongoing professional development is an expectation of all staff.
Qualifications :    Applicants must have the following qualifications and registrations prior to commencement:
  • Hold an approved Diploma of Children’s Services.
  • Be able to fill the position of a person in day-to-day charge if required by the Approved Provider in accordance with the Regulations.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Hold a current Child Protection/Mandatory Reporting certificate.
  • Hold and maintain approved:
  • First Aid Training
  • CPR Training
  • Emergency Asthma Management Training
  • Management of Anaphylaxis Training
in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies
