About the Centre/Service
Golden Square Kindergarten has been a community kindergarten for 57 years. We are governed by a Committee of Management that consists of parents and several Community representatives from IT, Education and a Liaison person for the Educators.
We have recently extended to have a second room and can provide education for up to 170 three and four year olds. Our program has extended hours for three and four year olds (7.30-6.00- 2 days a week). We currently have 12 educators, 5 of whom are qualified teachers and five diplomas. Depending on the children we also may have KIS funding support for another educator. We also have a paid administrator or is in charge of the enrolments and pays and a Garden Maintenance person.

Description
This position includes being the Director (responsible for the centre), Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and teacher of one group of children.

Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (as listed on the approved qualification list by ACECQA), or:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care/Bachelor (or equivalent)
- Current Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification
- Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
- Valid VIT
- Accredited Child Protection Training
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Nominated Supervisor position in an Early Childhood Service or Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position in an Early Childhood Service
- Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff.
- Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
- Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and development Framework and/or My Time Our Place Framework, Education and Care Services National Law (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)
- Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education and care service
