About the Centre/Service For over 85 years, Robina Scott Kindergarten has enriched the lives of many local children in Williamstown and the Hobsons Bay Community. A not-for-profit community run kinder, we operate two beautiful campuses for 3 and 4 yr old sessional kindergarten in Williamstown, both of which are rated Exceeding by ACECQA. We provide high quality education and care to over 150 children in the local community and are a highly sought-after kindergarten. We pride ourselves on our connection to the local community and can regularly be seen on excursions around the local area. Robina Scott Kindergarten's vision is to "empower children to realise their potential". Our Educators provide high quality educational programs that aim to give each child a broad and rounded experience. Our programs cater for the whole child, including all areas of learning and development. We promote children’s communication skills, build strong, positive self-concept and independence, nurture their curiosity, and most importantly foster an enjoyment of lifelong learning and discovery.

Description Robina Scott Kindergarten is seeking a Director to lead and inspire our staff, families and community, bringing our vision to life. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, including around 20 permanent and casual staff, and accountable to the Committee of Management (Approved Provider). The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with teachers and educators, centre children, the Committee of Management, parents, and other stakeholders. They will be highly organised and have an outstanding knowledge of early childhood education with demonstrated ability to develop, lead and retain a high performing team and kindergarten program that will ensure we continue to exceed the national standards. The role will require 24 hours per week across both campuses and can be flexible with days. The Position Description provides more information on the requirements of the role and how to apply.
Qualifications Selection Criteria:
  • Previous experience as a Director or Assistant Director within an early childhood environment
  • Qualifications suitable for an early childhood educator/teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide
  • Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor or be nominated as a person in a leadership position or with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the service in accordance with the Regulations if required by the Approved Provider
  • Approved First Aid qualifications covering first aid and emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, recognised by ACECQA
  • Extensive knowledge of all relevant regulations and statutory requirements, including the EYLF, NQS.
  • Ability to work in partnership with parent management committee, families and the wider community
  • Ability to mentor and support staff to grow and develop professionally
  • Working with Children Check
