About the Centre/Service Renown Kindergarten in South Yarra has been providing kindergarten children with their first educational experience since 1920. We have a rich history and tradition, and are committed to offering an early childhood service of the highest quality. Renown offers three different kindergarten programs, including our Three and Four year old programs and our Bilingual, English/French, program. As of 2019, Renown is launching it’s Extended Care Program for 3 and 4 year olds, to be run Tuesday to Friday and to be delivered by a qualified Activity Group Leader and supported by a team orientated Educator.
Work Days of the Role Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Hours of Work of the Role 2.30pm-6pm + Planning
Description Core duties include:
  • plan, deliver and evaluate an early childhood education program, which is developmentally appropriate for the group and individual children,
  • actively contribute to establishing a collaborative culture both in the classroom and workplace where teamwork and respect for each other is paramount,
  • engage in reflective practice when creating routines and developing learning spaces in collaboration with the education assistant for the children and families,
  • develop positive relationships with parents that encourage their participation in and contribution to their child’s education, and
  • ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children.
  Activity Group Leader - Diploma Qualified Renown is seeking a dynamic, flexible and committed Activity Group Leader who is energised by the opportunity to develop, plan, implement and evaluate, in consultation with the Program Director, an engaging and developmentally appropriate extended care program.   Skills and experience:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education OR Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • Knowledge of the VEYLDF and EYLF
  • Current WWCC
  • First aid
  • Anaphylaxis and asthma management training
