About the Centre/Service Syndal Preschool is a community managed, stand-alone, government funded sessional kindergarten, rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. The kindergarten is situated in a quiet, secluded garden setting behind Syndal shops in Glen Waverley. We offer both 3-4 and 4-5 year old preschool programmes, in a caring and stimulating environment, guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood teachers and educators. Our team is dedicated to developing programs that reflect each individual child’s interests and abilities, while incorporating family dynamics, culture and aspirations. Our preschool curriculum is underpinned by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We seek a like-minded Early Childhood Educator to join the team and support two high quality programmes; one group of 3 year old children, and one group of 4 year old children. Depending on the preferences of the most suitable applicants, we can offer either two positions of fewer hours (one with each group), or a more substantial combined position. Description The successful applicant will - - be passionate about early childhood education - have an understanding of child development and the VEYLDF/EYLF - show the ability to assist delivery of creative individual and group programs which support children's curiosity and foster their learning and development - have well-developed organisational and communication skills with children, families, staff, committee and members of the community - demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, supporting the running of the Kindergarten - show the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team teaching model - demonstrate knowledge of child-safe practice - conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Preschool policies and Victorian Kindergarten policy, procedures and funding criteria - be committed to ongoing professional learning and development. The role is 3 full days per week, but depending on the preferences of the successful candidate, this could potentially be split into two roles of 1.5 days each per week.
Qualifications The successful applicant will hold - - An approved Certificate III level Education and Care qualification or equivalent (or be working towards a qualification in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations). - Current First Aid qualifications (including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management)
Additional Requirements Compliance with relevant directions issued by the Chief Health Officer, including mandatory vaccination and provision of evidence of COVID-19 vaccination when applicable.
