About the Centre/Service Since 1856, the Royal Women’s Hospital (the Women’s) has been providing health services to women and newborn babies in Victoria. Today, the Women’s is one of Australia’s leading specialist public hospital dedicated and advocating for the health and wellbeing of women and newborns. Through our campuses at Parkville and Sandringham and by supporting ten research centres, the Women’s is advancing healthcare for women in maternity services and the care of newborn babies, gynaecology, women’s health and women’s cancer services. The Childcare Services & Early Learning Team are responsible for providing Early Childhood Education and Care and Kindergarten to children of staff of the Women’s and Parkville Health Precinct Hospitals – Frances Perry House, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The onsite education and care service is a key business of the Women’s, supporting flexible work/life balance and is a key aspect of the return to work journey of our people. Description The Casual Early Childhood Educator is an active team member in the provision of high quality early childhood education and care, including developing strong relationships with children, families, educators and the community. The educator will support a curriculum that meet the needs of children aged 6 weeks to 6 years of age, alongside the services philosophy, procedures and policies. The Casual Early Childhood Educator is a vital role within the centre cohort and is required to be proactive, aware, flexible and adaptable in a reactive and fast paced environment. The Casual Early Childhood Educator reports direct to the Manager Childcare Services and is supported in their role by the centre Second-In-Charge.

Additional Requirements All applicants applying to work at the Women's must provide evidence that they have received a full COVID-19 Vaccination, or provide evidence from a medical practitioner certifying that an exception applies related to a contraindication to the administration of the COVID-19 vaccination. This includes employees in all roles at the Women’s Hospital. This requirement is in line with the directions pursuant to section 200 (1)(d) of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic).
