About the Centre/Service
The Craig Family Centre is a community based organisation that provides services to support individuals and families within the local community. The Centre has a strong community development focus and encourages participation and involvement of the local community.
The Craig Family Centre is committed to working with and for the community. The Centre is involved in developing community programs, information sharing, mutual support, advocacy and community participation in local and social issues. Membership and access to services is open to people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultural groups.
The Craig Family Centre is an incorporated association governed by a Committee of Management elected from the membership. The Centre aims to achieve high professional standards and to deliver of safe, well planned and stimulating programs that respond positively to the individuals and families who use them.

Description
- To be an educator in our sessional care room
- To provide quality care and education for children 2-6 years, that is inclusive and culturally appropriate for all children.
- To ensure that documentation related to the program is complete. This will include individual developmental observations, portfolios, learning stories, visual diaries, program plans and profiles as a basis of further planning.
- To ensure that the environment is hygienic and safe, so as to promote the children’s wellbeing and learning.
- To implement smooth running and enjoyable routines, appropriate for the children, that respects children’s agency, fosters individuality and encourages independence.
- To ensure that all equipment, indoor and outdoor is inspected regularly and is safe and well maintained.
- Assist the teachers and Team Leaders in the development of a collaborative team within the Centre and assist via day-to-day guidance and supervision of educators within the room.
- Report any concerns regarding, children, families, employees and equipment to the Director.
- Complete all documentation as specified in the Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Standards and CFC’s Policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of newsletter contributions each term.
- Assist, welcome and orientate all families into the room.
- Communicate children’s learning and wellbeing with families on a day-to-day basis.
- Encourage family involvement within the program and the Centre activities.
- To be knowledgeable regarding OHS requirements and follow Centre procedures to avoid potential accidents or injuries to self, other employees, children, parents and visitors.
- Report any accidents, illnesses or near misses to the Teachers or Team Leader or Director as soon as they become apparent.
- To engage in professional development to maintain exemplary practice.
- To be an advocate for CFC.
- To abide by all CFC’s Code of Conduct policies, practices and procedures.
- To act as a professional at all times.
- To respect the privacy of parents, children and employees and treat all information confidentially.
Qualifications
Early Childhood Qualification that is recognised as a Children’s Services Employee Level 3 or above.
