About the Centre/Service St Mary's Pre-school is a parent-run community kindergarten located in the heart of Bayside. Situated within an old church building, the kindergarten is full of character and charm. With beautiful external grounds and a huge internal space, we provide a wonderful learning space for children. Our community is made up of local parents who are invested in the kindergarten and love to see it thrive. We have a very active committee and passionate long-standing teachers and educators that have nurtured our reputation for many years. Recently rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards, we are seeking a like-minded educator to work as part of our passionate team.
Work Days of the Role Tuesday and Friday

Description An opportunity exists for an Early Childhood Educator to join our teaching team in Term 1 2022. Recently assessed as Exceeding the National Quality Standards, we strive to deliver a high-quality educational program. The learning space is shared across three groups (1 x 3yo and 2 x 4yo groups throughout the week).  Our teaching staff includes 7 experienced staff, and we are looking for someone who can work closely as part of this team. Working with the 4YO "Penguin" group, you will be working alongside an experienced and Qualified Early Childhood Teacher .  You will also be responsible for the running of our  aftercare program on Tuesday after the conclusion of the kindergarten session, where you will have a maximum of 11 children, working independently.
Hours:
  • Tuesday 1.00-6.00 (Kindergarten session 1.00 - 4.00, aftercare program 4.00-6.00)
  • Friday 11 - 2pm (One hour Lunch cover and 2 hours of planning)
Key responsibilities:
  • Providing children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
  • Collaboration with the educational team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Liaising with the Lead Educator, Teacher, and the Committee of Management to ensure delivery of a high-quality educational service
Experience in a community Kindergarten is essential.
Qualifications
  • You must have the right to work and live in Australia to apply for this role
  • NQF (National Quality Framework) Approved Diploma Qualification (or be working towards a qualification in accordance with the Regulations).
  • NQF Approved CPR, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis Management training
  • Current Employee Working With Children Check (VIT Registered Teachers exempt)
The successful candidate will be required to consent to a National Police Check.
