Work Days of the Role Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Description About the Role: This position is part time (0.6), working 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday). Commencing in January 2022, this is a 12 month fixed term position, reporting to the Executive Manager. The core purpose of this role is to provide pedagogical leadership to Bethany teachers and educators through a coaching and mentoring approach. This is a key component of the School Readiness Project.  The Pedagogical Leader will also share the responsibility for supervision and day to day line management of the SRF Administration Officer and the SRF Additional Educators. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support educators to develop educational programs that are appropriate to the individual developmental needs and interests of the children. All programs will reflect the needs of the community and be culturally appropriate.
  • Provide practice leadership about current issues relating to children’s services and liaise with relevant early childhood services and other professional services and organisations within the community.
  • Research and monitor curriculum practices in accordance with the National Quality Frameworks and provide feedback and guidance to staff and educators.
  • Facilitate and organise communication with each kindergarten to ensure coaching plans are developed, reviewed and implemented
  • Supervise and guide the work of the SRF Project Worker
  • Recommend and participate in professional development of staff in consultation with the Kindergarten Services Managers and BKS Executive Manager

Qualifications About you:
  • You are an experienced Early Childhood Teacher with a sound understanding and knowledge of Early Childhood learning and development theory, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework and other relevant legislation governing the operation of children’s services.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to lead and participate in reflective discussions and considerations on practice and the implementation of the VEYLDF with a focus upon interactions, routines, intentional teaching, teaching and learning
  • You hold a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
