About the Centre/Service
Mount Pleasant Kindergarten is a contemporary kindergarten located in Nunawading, rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. Our wonderful team is committed to providing the highest quality educational programs through a play-based curriculum, allowing independent choices and individual development that educates the whole child. We are a double unit kindergarten, delivering funded Three and Four year old Education to 105 children over five classes per week. The Kindergarten provides a safe and relaxed atmosphere so that the children become confident individuals who develop lifelong learning. The Kindergarten is uniquely situated, being integrated within our Primary school, and we are afforded the opportunities to explore the grounds, kitchen garden and learning spaces to extend and reimagine learning possibilities.

Description
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and confident teacher to join our friendly and professional team to deliver a high quality, play-based program for one four-year-old class. This role is for 2 long day sessions of 7.5 hours (teaching time) on a Tuesday and Thursday plus planning time on an additional day, with some flexibility on choice of days. This role is a great opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with children and families, work within a Reggio lens and has a flexible and adaptive approach to teaching within a progressive framework. This teacher will demonstrate independence and initiative and have prior experience supporting children in all areas of development and learning. We encourage teachers with experience in implementing play based learning, inclusive practice, a Reggio approach and robust conceptual and inquiry learning approaches to apply for this role. You will have in place support structures from the Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor as part of this position.
The successful candidate must have a genuine passion for working with children and share our focus of making a difference in their development. You will need to be energetic, adaptive and have the ability to show initiative.

- Demonstrated intentional teaching through a play-based curriculum
- Examples of individual and group learning assessments
- Provide a synopsis of inclusive practice and associated pedagogy, including examples.
- Your personal Pedagogy, including a description on your ‘Image of the Child’.
Qualifications
It is expected that you will hold a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent), have a current Working With Children Check and VIT registration as well as being formally qualified to administer First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management.
