Primary role Early Childhood Teacher
Position type Part-time
About the Centre/Service Bittern Preschool is run by a volunteer committee of management. We currently offer two 4 year old programs, and one 3 year old program. Our kindergarten is committed to providing loving, positive, warm, family-like environments, and develop a genuine community. We have developed play-based programs to cater to each child’s individual needs and interests, which are based on the Australian Early Learning Years Framework and our centre’s philosophy. As Early Childhood educators, we know the importance of inculcating healthy mindsets in children, we frequently offer yoga and mindfulness programs, and engage in affirmations. We have a large natural outdoor area, filled with large trees and natural play spaces. We believe in embedding sustainable practices within the service, and have chickens, a worm farm, vegetable patch and various other sustainable projects. We have a strong relationship with the local primary school, and engage with them often through our bush kinder program that runs on the site of the primary school.
