About the Centre/Service Located in Vermont, Eastmont Preschool has been providing quality kindergarten programs for children since 1968. Work Days of the Role Contact hours Monday, Tuesday 1.45pm – 4.15pm, and Thursday 8.30am – 11.00am plus non-contact time totalling 11.25 hours per week.
Description We are seeking an energetic teacher to join our dedicated team as the 3yo group teacher. You will have the ability to continue to work with children through the encouragement and celebration of their unique strengths and interests. In this role, you will work closely with our Director, numerous educators and families to maintain an environment where children can learn and explore in a supported environment. This position is a part time 12 month contract (including a 12 week trial period)  contract commencing in term 1, 2020 and concluding at the end of term 4, 2020, with the possibility of ongoing employment. The successful candidate must have the following:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with educators, children and their families
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative as well display a commitment to teamwork
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework
  • Ability to apply the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework
  • A genuine concern and empathy for children demonstrating a proactive response to the needs of each individual child.
Qualifications Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
