About the Centre/Service Highmount Preschool is a long-standing independent kindergarten, managed by a professional and experienced Committee of Management. We offer three and four-year-old kindergarten programs, delivered by qualified, experienced and caring Educators in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. Our educational programs have a strong emphasis on inclusive, play-based strategies, and children enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities with purpose-built spaces to promote socialisation, imaginative play and physical activity. A large playground provides natural and sustainable elements such as vegetable gardens, fruit trees and a rainwater tank. The Preschool provides excellent staff support, with an administration manager, experienced committee of management, and generous professional learning opportunities. There are 31 four-year-old places in 2021 with a maximum of 22 children per session, operating on a rotational model.

Description FULL TIME FAMILY LEAVE POSITION Commencing term 3, 2021 and concluding end of term 2, 2022: 4th October 2021 - 24th June 2022. Highmount Preschool is offering a full time family leave position for an experienced Early Childhood Educator, Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor. The successful applicant is required to:
  • Lead and guide the development and implementation of a high quality educational program, based on approved learning frameworks
  • Work in partnership with the 3yo teaching team
  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the NQF and VEYLDF
  • Be confident and articulate in early childhood pedagogy and practice
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and apply learning to the program
  • Have excellent communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude
  • Be committed to nurturing relationships with children and families
  • Have sound knowledge of digital technology operations
  • Be a dedicated and dynamic leader!
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood
  • Minimum 5 years experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an Educational Leader
  • Current VIT registration, WWCC and Criminal Record Check
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates
Requirements VIT Registration
Additional Requirements Knowledge and experience in Dr. Claire Warden’s pedagogical practices favourable.
