About the Centre/Service Glen Eira Kindergarten Association (GEKA) is a not-for-profit, Early Years Manager of ten local kindergartens in the municipality of Glen Eira. Our role is to ensure that the delivery of programs for children are inclusive, reflective of contemporary research and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Work Days of the Role Monday, Tuesday plus planning day
Hours of Work of the Role 22.5 hours per week
Description We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher to lead a four year old program at one of our ten services. The program is offered to children for 15 hours, two days per week (8.30am-4.00pm) and supports learning and development of up to 26 children. The program is supported by two educators with a Diploma and a Certificate three in Education and Care. GEKA Kindergartens implement a play based emergent curriculum that is built on current research from the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF 2009). The curriculum provides rich learning experiences developed through a strength/interest based approach. We are committed to supporting children in ways that help connect them to the natural world in order to build and promote awareness of environmental and sustainable practices. Our flexible environments, incorporating indoor and outdoor programs simultaneously, are purposefully arranged to capture children’s interests, ideas and cater to individual needs.
